\u03a4he exhibition presented, in the form of visual installations, the results of therapeutic photography workshops implemented since January 2019 at the associations for cancer patients Alma Zois and KEFI. The workshops used specially designed techniques of self-expression and play through photography, and focused on improving the participants\u2019 emotional well-being, encouraging them to view the challenges of the disease in a more positive light.<\/p>

Furthermore, the project \u201cCancer Survivors: The Faces of Hope\u201d was presented, aiming in sensitizing the public and challenging stereotypes around cancer. This project brought together cancer survivors with distinguished photographers, and led to a series of portraits that reflect their strength and convey an optimistic message.<\/p>

In collaboration with the visual artist Grigoria Vryttia and TAF \/ The Art Foundation, the project \u201cThe healing thread\u201d was implemented in October 2022, with the participation of almost 25 female breast cancer survivors. It was organized within the wider context of World Breast Cancer Day events, and it included a series of workshops, a collective installation and an exhibition.<\/p>

Through open, four-day workshops at TAF, the participants created portraits - talismans of each, from threads, fabrics, and other materials, under the guidance of Grigoria Vryttia, sculptor, textile artist and breast cancer survivor. At the end of the workshops, the works were joined by the artist in a collective installation, which reflected the different stories in the light of their common experience through the disease. The purpose was to create a visual equivalent of this great community, to highlight the therapeutic value of engaging in art, and to spread a message of hope and solidarity to those experiencing similar challenges.<\/p>

Eyes <\/span>of Light - Arts in Health Hub presents the art installation <\/span>\u201cTouch\u201d, as part of the Corfu International Festival from November 7 to 19 at the Ionian Parliament.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cTouch\u201d features a collective piece created by people with cancer experience, who participated at the therapeutic photography workshops of Eyes of Light organization, back in 2019, led by Dimitra Ermeidou.<\/span><\/p>

Eyes <\/span>came about as an exercise in awareness and gratitude. Holding hands with the people who supported them in this difficult journey of illness. An occasion for participants to physically and directly express words and feelings that, for many, had never been communicated. A depiction of their course with those who were there. Relatives, partners, friends, therapists.<\/span><\/p>

This humble, albeit essential gesture reflects not only the energy of that particular moment, but also the power of solidarity and caring.<\/span><\/p>
